Back to School – August Update
August 14, 2023
August 2023
Building/traffic management
As many of you are aware, the Multi-Purpose Hall is progressing well and the footprint will be visible for all to see upon return. Of course, the health and safety of all our students is of paramount importance. We will be in communication with you regarding the traffic management plan closer to school opening dates. I will say that this will present challenges for all of us in terms of traffic and parking and I ask you to bear with us over the next 14 months as we endeavour to make the school a better campus.
School Day – Slight Adjustments
As you are all aware, we are moving to a one-hour timetable and thanks to all who answered our survey on this. The response was overwhelmingly positive and we look forward to this improvement in our teaching and learning plan. Our times will be as follows:
Registration every morning at 08:35.
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, classes finish at 15:30 and extra-curricular at 16:30. Buses will depart after Extra-Curricular as usual.
On Wednesdays, classes will finish at 13:00 and buses will depart as normal at 15:15 to facilitate the Extra-Curricular Programme.
On Friday, school closes at 15:30 and buses leave then.
Buses
Any queries regarding buses should be sent to suttonparktransport@gmail.com
Uniform
As you are all aware, we have a very comfortable school uniform which allows the students to wear their sports clothing should they so wish. We do stipulate that all clothing worn must bear the school crest. This includes polo shirts/t-shirts. Otherwise, a student will be considered to be in breach of the uniform code. Dark footwear and any dark jacket must be worn.

Fundraising/Strategic Review
I will be writing to you again as the school year commences. There is much to share as the school continues to plan the future development beyond the current multi-purpose hall project and towards a development plan to renew and regenerate the current school campus. The strong fundraising programme which has been so intrinsic to the current multi-purpose hall will continue for the foreseeable future. Our Development Manager, Eoin Scott, will be in touch as the year progresses with further information. You can contact Eoin on eoin.scott@sps.ie
I would also like to make you aware that the school has recently undergone a comprehensive strategic review. The outcomes of this will be further shared with you as the year progresses. We look forward to sharing with you, a vision and plan for the school going forward. More on this to follow.
Enjoy the rest of the summer and see you at the end of August.
